About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, develop, test, and deploy software applications using Java, Spring Boot, and related technologies
Participate in all phases of the SAFe Agile development lifecycle, including planning, estimation, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives
Ensure coding standards and best practices through code reviews and comprehensive unit tests
Collaborate with product owners, Scrum Masters, DevSecOps engineers, and other stakeholders
Troubleshoot software issues, provide root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures
Create and maintain technical documentation
Improve software development processes and tools
Lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable, and resilient enterprise applications
Establish architecture and coding standards, guide technical decisions, and mentor engineers
Drive complex initiatives from requirements through production release
Manage technical risks and dependencies and deliver solutions meeting performance, security, compliance, and business objectives
Support CMS in detecting and preventing fraud, waste, and abuse within government-sponsored health programs

Requirements

What you’ll need

7+ years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on Java and Spring Boot
Expert proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, RESTful API development, microservices architecture, ActiveMQ, Docker, and Kubernetes
Ability to define API contracts using OpenAPI/Swagger specifications
Experience with synchronous REST and asynchronous messaging frameworks including ActiveMQ, Amazon MQ, and SQS
Experience with GitHub and Jenkins CI/CD
Experience with Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, and Cucumber
Experience with SQL, Python, Bash scripting, Linux, AWS services, and Terraform
Experience with PostgreSQL, Oracle, and data modeling
Experience with Apache JMeter, Grafana, Splunk, DataDog, and CloudWatch
Knowledge of AWS QuickSight and Elasticsearch
Experience with SAFe, Scrum, Jira, and Confluence
Excellent communication and collaborative teamwork skills
Strong problem-solving skills and proactive approach
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced agile environment
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
Must have lived in the United States 3 out of the past 5 years
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
