About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Inspect gas lines and pipes to determine the origin and severity of gas leaks
- Detect, locate, and evaluate natural gas leaks
- Report leaks to the local gas company
- Complete paid training to accurately detect and classify natural gas leaks
- Walk 5 or more miles per day while working outdoors
- Drive a company vehicle for daily work
- Travel up to 75% of the time, including occasional weekends
- Adhere to all safety and quality policies and procedures
- Observe and follow company/client procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be flexible to travel up to 75% of the time, including occasional weekends
- Ability to fly/drive anywhere in the U.S.
- Mechanically inclined and able to troubleshoot technology as needed
- Ability to drive in all-weather conditions
- Must be able to learn training material in classroom format and/or online courses and pass all qualification tests
- Bending, crouching, kneeling, and walking several miles per day
- Carry a minimum of 20 lbs. of equipment
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers in a courteous manner and provide excellent customer service
- Must observe and follow all company/client procedures
- Must be available for overtime, which may include weekends
- Comfortable using computers/technology
- Reliable personal vehicle may be required during the 4–5 week training period
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and varied environments
