About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own infrastructure for AI workloads, including bare metal and private cloud as the high-performance substrate for GPU clusters
- Own cluster lifecycle across public clouds, private clouds, and bare metal, including provisioning, upgrades, scaling, and Day-2 operations
- Own the migration experience and communication for platform transitions
- Lead brownfield adoption and federation, moving externally built clusters from read-only visibility to fully managed operation
- Develop long-term support as a product, including Kubernetes version and workload support, vendor relationships, and version support policies
- Define estate organization and multi-tenancy, including tenant and team boundaries, shared versus dedicated clusters, access, and isolation
- Take ownership of new product areas as the platform grows
- Use usage telemetry and customer signals to guide decisions
- Ship on release trains with enterprise customer commitments, refined epics, explicit scope, and clear slip communication
- Collaborate with PM, UX, and Documentation as one group from the definition stage
- Multiply output with AI tooling
- Work with senior engineering leads and large enterprise customers
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of product management on infrastructure products
- Hands-on exposure to 2 or more platform families
- Ideally, experience with one public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP, or managed Kubernetes services) and one on-prem platform (vSphere, Nutanix, bare metal)
- Real Kubernetes depth, including cluster lifecycle, upgrades, and operators
- Judgment about product maturity and investment priorities
- Comfort with upstream ecosystems and understanding of the costs and benefits of tracking upstream Kubernetes
- Clear written communication across time zones and cultures
- Cluster API familiarity is a strong plus
- Participation in CNCF SIGs, working groups, or open source communities is a plus
- CKA/CKAD or similar hands-on Kubernetes certification is a nice signal, never a requirement
