Key responsibilities & impact

Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services in Java
Create and evolve APIs and services connecting user experiences with scalable internal infrastructure
Apply product requirements to APIs and services
Improve system architecture, performance, and developer experience
Develop and enhance the user-facing layer and frontend SDKs using React/TypeScript
Collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, and data specialists across multiple teams
Contribute to technical discussions and shape platform decisions
Build tools enabling artists to express themselves and connect with Spotify fans

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience designing and developing backend applications in Java
Solid understanding of React and TypeScript
Understanding of end-to-end experiences and software architecture across backend, frontend, and APIs
Experience with infrastructure-related technologies is a plus
Care about agile software development and a culture of constant learning and improvement
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to communicate ideas
Experience and passion for mentoring and encouraging collaborative teams
Ability to work within the ET time zone with a work location
