About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build and evolve Quicksilver UI, Spotify's multi-channel messaging platform, for authoring, previewing, and delivering in-app messages, emails, and push notifications
  • Own frontend features end-to-end, from component design and implementation in React and TypeScript through server-side creative rendering
  • Work across the stack, including debugging Java and Apollo services, evolving gRPC, Protobuf, and REST API contracts, tracing data through BigQuery, and improving pipeline output
  • Support multi-market and localization workflows and enable smooth new-market launches
  • Partner with product and design to shape features based on operator needs
  • Improve developer experience through testing infrastructure, build performance, component documentation, and integration tooling
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and technical direction

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience building complex web applications with TypeScript and modern UI frameworks, including React or similar technologies
  • Understanding of state management, GraphQL and Apollo, component-scoped styling, and reusable component-library design
  • Experience building tools or platforms for internal users
  • Comfort working across frontend and backend systems, including reading or modifying Java services and working with API contracts such as gRPC, Protobuf, or REST
  • Ability to work with Scala/Python when pipelines or APIs need attention
  • Ability to navigate cloud infrastructure and data tools such as GCP, GKE, BigQuery, or GCS
  • Thoughtful technical-debt decisions and ability to communicate tradeoffs
  • Experience working across shared codebases and understanding collaboration around common components and services
  • Experience with data pipelines, LLM applications such as RAG or vector search, or server-side rendering may also be brought
