About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the platform's systems design, including architecture, data models, contracts, integration boundaries, and trade-offs
- Stay hands-on through the highest-risk parts of the build and ship code the team learns from
- Establish architectural, security, and verification patterns and uphold them through design reviews
- Design secure, scalable systems capable of banking-grade load and scrutiny
- Raise the team's technical output through direction, design review, and pairing
- Build AI leverage through agentic workflows with evaluations and guardrails for reliable shipping
- Represent spotixx technically with customers through workshops and due diligence with bank architects, CISOs, and risk teams
- Partner with senior management and the manager on strategy and prioritisation
Requirements
What you’ll need- Typically 8+ years building production software
- Deeply experienced, hands-on technologist able to own systems design and still ship code
- Fluent in German and English; both essential
- Experience delivering systems inside a large corporate or for a vendor supplying one
- Understanding of enterprise architecture reviews, security assessments, and change control
- Excellent systems design skills covering distributed systems, services, contracts, data, and integrations
- Experience using coding agents and AI-assisted building
- Track record of raising engineers through influence, design review, and example
- Senior-management maturity; ability to translate technical risk into actionable business terms
- Credible and calm with bank architects and risk functions
- Security-minded, including secure-by-design thinking, OAuth/OIDC, and banking-appropriate data protection
- Rigorous approach to quality, verifiability, and verification
- Regulated-industry experience; banking or FinTech experience is a major bonus
- Cloud experience; GCP preferred, AWS or Azure welcome
- Familiarity with IaC, containers, and CI/CD
- Nice to have: Python/FastAPI, React/TypeScript, the GCP stack, privacy-enhancing technology or applied cryptography (especially MPC), multi-tenant SaaS, and anti-financial-crime domain experience
