About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct comprehensive virtual site assessments and complex or escalated restaurant site surveys
- Validate wiring, electrical infrastructure, networking, and internet readiness
- Perform traceroutes, port checks, and other diagnostics; document infrastructure gaps and risks
- Provide technical guidance to clients and vendors
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Technicians, and Engineering
- Lead remediation follow-ups and support junior specialists through training and knowledge sharing
- Recommend improvements to survey tools, templates, internal processes, and SOPs
- Maintain records including photos, diagrams, and survey outcomes
- Install and configure POS hardware including workstations, printers, pin pads, cash drawers, switches, routers, and firewalls
- Complete cabling, patching, and connectivity setup
- Deliver onsite training and live support for staff and management
- Implement menu/system updates and reporting configuration
- Conduct pre- and post-installation readiness checks and troubleshooting
- Lead client follow-ups to support smooth transitions and adoption
- Travel regularly to client sites
- Adhere to SOPs, SLAs, checklists, and quality standards
- Review outcomes and identify process gaps or errors for continuous improvement
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2-3 years of restaurant and/or technical support experience
- Experience in fintech or SaaS environments preferred
- Deep understanding of networking infrastructure, including low-voltage cabling, routers, switches, and Wi-Fi optimization
- Skilled in advanced network testing, including speed, latency, and DNS
- Experience resolving escalated technical issues
- Hands-on experience with restaurant POS systems, multi-terminal deployments, and technology installations
- Ability to manage complex, multi-site projects independently and mentor junior team members
- Experience conducting client-facing walkthroughs and training staff
- Familiarity with restaurant operations, POS hardware/software, menus, modifiers, and reporting workflows
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, CRM platforms, ticketing systems, and travel/expense management
- Demonstrated success in 50+ POS installations or comparable technical deployments
- Background in customer-facing roles, IT support, implementation, or technical project leadership within restaurants, retail, or multi-location businesses
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to travel up to 50-75%, including local and out-of-state travel with overnight stays as needed
- Fluent in English (written and verbal)
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish required
- U.S. work authorization required; visa sponsorship is not available
