Key responsibilities & impact

Design, build, and operate backend services in Go or Node.js
Build REST APIs, authentication, and data layers for partner-facing and internal tooling
Own webhook systems for partner integrations, including delivery guarantees, HMAC signatures, and retry logic
Design API versioning, pagination, and idempotency to preserve existing integrations
Work with PostgreSQL and DynamoDB on schema and query design under production load
Partner with AI Platform on services that productionize ML checkpoints and serve inference
Partner with Partner Engineering on partner-facing API contracts
Help establish backend engineering practices, code review norms, and service patterns as the team scales
Own backend services end to end, from design through production

Requirements

What you’ll need

3+ years building and operating production backend services in Go or Node.js
Real experience with REST API design, including versioning, pagination, and idempotency keys
Experience with authentication, including OAuth 2.0, API key management, and JWT
Experience building reliable webhook delivery with at-least-once semantics, signature verification, and retries
Comfort with PostgreSQL or DynamoDB query and schema design
Comfort working independently in an ambiguous, fast-moving startup environment
Nice to have: experience supporting ML/inference-serving infrastructure or working alongside an ML platform team
Nice to have: Docker and Kubernetes exposure
