About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise Java applications
Analyze and resolve complex software defects and production issues
Support enhancements and sustainment activities for applications utilizing Java, Spring Framework, Struts, JSP, EJB, JMS, WebLogic, Hibernate, Oracle, and related technologies
Decompose monolithic systems into microservices and support microservices transaction orchestration
Design and implement REST and SOAP-based services and integrations
Develop and maintain backend services using Java 17+, Spring Boot, microservices, JPA/Hibernate, REST APIs, Maven, and Swagger/OpenAPI
Collaborate with architects and senior developers on modernization initiatives
Develop and optimize SQL queries and database integrations
Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers
Contribute to automated testing, CI/CD processes, and application deployments
Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams to deliver high-quality software solutions

Requirements

What you’ll need

U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (Required)
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
8+ years of software development experience
Strong experience with Java 17+ development
Experience with Spring Framework and/or Spring Boot
Experience developing REST APIs and web services
Strong experience with microservices, JPA/Hibernate, Maven, and Swagger/OpenAPI
Experience working with Oracle or other relational databases
Experience using Git-based source control
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Strong verbal communication skills
Must have reliable internet service that allows for effective telecommuting
