About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage preprints experiences on the customer-facing website
  • Ensure users can discover, connect, publish and manage preprints with Research Square
  • Manage commercially important, complex or editorially sensitive products
  • Embed within internal development teams to deliver core user journeys and optimize internal capabilities and processes
  • Use data-led use cases to create a best-in-class customer experience with UX and CX teams
  • Work with stakeholders, partners and Product Managers to create, own and execute product strategy
  • Apply customer research and data insights to shape the product
  • Align managed products with the overall company product portfolio and strategy
  • Develop products across the full lifecycle from inception to retirement
  • Represent Product Management internally and externally
  • Partner with Associate Product Managers and Product Managers to develop Product Management skills
  • Understand Research Square customers, needs and current preprint capabilities
  • Build relationships with Research Square, Springer Nature teams and external partners
  • Host product inception and confirm the initial roadmap
  • Implement product metrics and funnels for key journeys
  • Select customer journeys for creation or optimization and deliver value iteratively
  • Focus development effort on directly submitting authors and support their publishing journey
  • Refine the model of user needs and product roadmap through research and development
  • Discover additional value opportunities that grow content usage, submissions and revenue
  • Continuously deliver customer and business value
  • Report customer value through quantitative and qualitative reporting

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • University education in a relevant area or equivalent demonstrable experience
  • Established excellent track record in product development and management
  • Demonstrable experience managing customer-focused digital products in technology or a relevant industry
  • Proven success in meeting product goals including quantitative, qualitative and commercial measures
  • User-focused, expert at using data and customer research to drive product strategy
  • Demonstrable experience of Agile working within software development teams
  • Experience influencing development teams to improve technical capabilities
  • Expert stakeholder management, influencing and negotiation skills
  • Ability to facilitate timely decision making
  • Demonstrable experience managing products at different stages of the product lifecycle from inception to retirement
  • Strategic mindset with understanding of Product Design, Product Strategy and Development, Engineering and Systems Design
