About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and implement portfolio and journal growth strategies
- Drive journal performance against key publishing, editorial, and commercial KPIs
- Lead complex initiatives including new journal launches, portfolio development, and OA transitions
- Monitor performance trends, identify opportunities and risks, and implement improvement plans
- Contribute to acquisition, partnership, and new business opportunities
- Build and maintain relationships with Editors-in-Chief, Editorial Board Members, society partners, and key researchers
- Represent Springer Nature at editorial board meetings, partner meetings, and scientific conferences
- Act as a trusted publishing advisor and recognized subject-area expert
- Negotiate and manage complex stakeholder relationships and partnership discussions
- Maintain understanding of research communities, market trends, and competitor activity
- Translate market intelligence into actionable portfolio strategies
- Identify and develop new publishing, partnership, and growth opportunities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Significant experience in STM journal publishing and portfolio management
- Proven track record of delivering portfolio growth and managing complex stakeholder relationships
- Strong commercial acumen and data-driven decision-making skills
- Excellent communication, negotiation, networking, and influencing abilities
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and lead strategic initiatives
- Master's degree or equivalent experience
