About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide marketing and communications support to the Quantum Economic Development Consortium (QED-C)
  • Draft, schedule, and publish social media content, primarily on LinkedIn
  • Create, format, and distribute biweekly newsletters
  • Deploy email marketing campaigns using HubSpot, including copywriting, email building, list management, scheduling, and metric tracking
  • Support marketing and communications for events, workshops, special meetings, and webinars
  • Support promotional campaigns for flagship events, including emails, social posts, website updates, registration copy, speaker highlights, reminders, recognition, and post-event communications
  • Make routine website updates in WordPress
  • Manage contact lists, campaign assets, and marketing workflows
  • Track and report engagement metrics for newsletters, emails, social media, and campaigns
  • Proofread and edit marketing content for clarity, accuracy, formatting, tone, and brand alignment
  • Apply brand guidelines across marketing materials and vendor-created assets
  • Maintain organized brand assets, templates, messaging documents, and style guidance
  • Create simple graphics and marketing assets in Canva
  • Flag inconsistencies and coordinate revisions before publication or distribution
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, writers, designers, printers, and internal stakeholders
  • Manage promotional item orders, specifications, proofs, approvals, and delivery coordination
  • Coordinate blog content with external writers, contributors, and subject matter experts
  • Work with graphic design contractors or agencies on larger design projects
  • Maintain organized records of vendor contacts, project details, deadlines, proofs, files, and approvals

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • U.S. citizenship or Permanent Residency required
  • Must submit a cover letter
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field, or 2 years equivalent professional experience without a degree
  • 2–4 years of experience in marketing, communications, digital marketing, or a related role
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Experience creating and scheduling social media content, especially for LinkedIn
  • Experience with email marketing platforms; HubSpot experience strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with Canva or similar design tools
  • Experience making website updates in WordPress
  • Strong understanding of brand consistency across multiple channels and asset types
  • Excellent editorial judgment and attention to detail
  • Experience coordinating with vendors, contractors, freelance writers, designers, printers, or promotional item providers
  • Ability to write creative briefs, gather stakeholder feedback, manage revisions, and track approvals
  • Strong project coordination skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage recurring deadlines
  • Ability to quickly learn an organization’s voice, brand standards, communications priorities, and stakeholder audiences
  • Adhere to established policies and processes
  • Ability to work within East Coast business hours (8 am–6 pm) preferred
  • Experience supporting event marketing campaigns preferred
  • Experience with member-based organizations, nonprofits, associations, or technology-focused organizations preferred
  • Familiarity with B2B marketing, stakeholder communications, or technical audiences preferred
  • Basic understanding of marketing analytics preferred
  • Experience with marketing calendars, project management tools, and campaign planning preferred
  • Experience working in a remote or hybrid environment preferred
  • Ability to operate a computer for several hours at a time
  • May be asked to move or lift up to 35 pounds infrequently
