About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work on deals for which SRS Acquiom provides shareholder representative or financial services
  • Coordinate with SRS Acquiom staff, clients, and client counsel
  • Review, negotiate, and finalize deal documents in accordance with approved procedures
  • Shepherd deals through closing
  • Provide support to Business Development Representatives, Relationship Managers, Relationship Associates, and other staff
  • Facilitate escalations to the Managing Director, General Counsel, Operations, and Product
  • Manage a pro rata share of deals
  • Review acquisition agreements, engagement letters, escrow agreements, paying agent agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and related transactional agreements
  • Maintain expertise in M&A market terms and SRS Acquiom procedures
  • Assist with maintaining and updating intake procedures and training new intake attorneys
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • J.D. from a nationally ranked, accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
  • Licensed to practice law in at least one state
  • Requisite years of legal experience are typically 1-2 years for the Associate Attorney position.
  • Excellent, prompt, and friendly customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple, dynamic projects/Deals.
  • Ability to meet demanding deadlines and solve problems when unexpected issues arise.
  • Strong work ethic with a positive attitude and an enthusiasm for working on Deals.
  • Ability to quickly yet carefully review and understand complex agreements.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future visa sponsorship.
