About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own pricing strategy and execution for SRS Distribution's Building Products business
- Own the Building Products price book and lead centralized price book management across all divisions
- Set and monitor pricing KPIs, including gross margin performance, override rate, standard-price sales percentage, and cost-change pass-through
- Establish and lead an operating rhythm for reviewing and addressing product and customer margin performance
- Direct pricing toward market-clearing prices for products and customer segments
- Lead rollout and adoption of pricing tools across the pricing organization
- Define technology and analytics needs and partner with enterprise pricing teams to build supporting tools and reporting
- Build structured training for Price Coordinators and Analysts
- Lead, recruit, develop, and retain the Building Products pricing organization
- Develop Pricing Managers and Coordinators into future business leaders
- Partner with Division SVPs and enterprise pricing teams to translate strategy into field execution and drive accountability
- Retain ownership of Building Products' pricing P&L outcomes
- Report to the SVP, Enterprise Pricing and the President, Building Products
- Travel periodically to headquarters, branches, and division locations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience owning P&L or margin outcomes for a business unit
- Experience leading a distributed field team, including managers who lead coordinators or analysts
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency with pricing software and analytics tools
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead an operating rhythm that holds a business accountable for margin performance
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field required
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive pricing experience, including team leadership and ownership of business margin outcomes
- Experience in building products, distribution, or a related industry preferred
- Experience with price optimization software preferred
- Track record of building training programs and developing team members into future business leaders preferred
- Experience partnering with a center-led or enterprise function while retaining ownership of business unit outcomes preferred
- No certifications required; Certified Pricing Professional (CPP) viewed favorably
- Ability to travel periodically to SRS HQ, Building Products branches, and division locations
- Ability to remain stationary for extended periods and communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Proficiency using a computer and standard office equipment
- Successful completion of a background check and drug screen, as permitted by law
