About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Act as Product Owner for edge systems and data science teams
- Integrate radar, surveillance cameras, radio communications and other complex sensor solutions into maritime domain awareness solutions
- Scope, refine and deliver data science and machine learning solutions using maritime tracking, video and other relevant datasets
- Develop understanding of third-party sensor capabilities, interfaces and system architectures to build customer-focused solutions
- Evolve early product concepts into features that solve users’ problems
- Serve as subject matter expert on sensor integrations and data science capabilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders, technical SMEs and customers to define and refine roadmap features
- Work with UX/UI designers to ensure usability and visual impact
- Build stakeholder relationships and align development teams
- Present features to the wider team in reviews
- Train Customer Success and Support teams on new sensor and communications functionality
- Understand end-to-end system use cases and how mobile apps fit into the overall solution
Requirements
What you’ll need- An Engineering Degree is beneficial, but not essential for this role
- Product ownership experience across networked systems, sensing technology, and radio communication technology
- Experience working with data science and machine learning teams, ideally in surveillance, video analytics or intelligence settings
- Good understanding of best practice in Agile software delivery and the role of a product owner
- Comfortable working at pace, managing change and removing uncertainty
- Comfortable working closely with development teams and thinking strategically about longer-term product direction and innovation
- Experience collaborating with UX/UI designers, data scientists, and developers
- Clear and concise communicator, able to explain complex topics to non-technical audiences and infer requirements from non-technical stakeholders and users
- Pragmatic approach to Product Management and Agile delivery
- Able to convey requirements in formal requirements documentation and user story format
- Background in software development, solution architecture or another technical discipline beneficial
- Willingness to extend product skills into software delivery management
- Maritime or asset-tracking experience is a bonus
- Experience with radio communications systems or IoT products is a bonus
