About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage a portfolio of alternative investment fund clients, partnering with senior leadership to deliver exceptional client service, oversee engagement timelines, and ensure all deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule
- Review fund governing documents, complex investment transactions, workpapers, management fee calculations, investor allocations, capital activity, and distribution waterfall models for compliance with fund terms and accounting standards
- Oversee preparation and review of financial statements, supporting schedules, and other client deliverables
- Drive consistency, quality, and continuous improvement in review processes and controls
- Lead coordination of year-end audits and collaborate with clients, auditors, and internal tax teams
- Coach, mentor, and develop team members through technical guidance, performance feedback, career development support, and continued learning opportunities
- Build client relationships through client meetings, business development initiatives, and proactive client support
- Contribute to departmental initiatives and operational improvements supporting efficiency, team performance, and business objectives
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
- 8–10+ years of accounting experience, including significant experience with alternative investment funds
- Strong knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other comprehensive bases of accounting, with an emphasis on investment partnerships
- 3–5+ years of experience leading and developing accounting professionals
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and client engagements in a fast-paced environment
- Strong leadership, coaching, and relationship management skills
- Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- CPA designation preferred
- Hedge funds experience is a strong plus
- Proficiency with utilizing various AI programs
