About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide middle office trade operations services to institutional money managers and global hedge fund clients
Work with clients, brokers, custodians, and prime brokers to resolve issues and ensure timely confirmation and settlement of trades, FX spots and forwards, and other transactions
Research market standards and practices to maintain current client and broker data and ensure SWIFT message compliance
Instruct parties regarding cash and security movements related to collateral and variation margin
Identify and timely escalate potential issues to internal and external parties
Maintain and update team procedures across clients and processes
Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Research and communicate market and regulatory requirements and changes
Identify process improvement opportunities and work with technology teams to develop, test, and execute changes
Understand and mitigate risks associated with late settlement, including penalties, buy-ins, and claims
Perform due diligence to resolve issues and avoid financial or reputational impact
Prepare wire transfer instructions for fund expenses and investments
Maintain and update vendor and counterparty wire instructions

Requirements

What you’ll need

Undergraduate degree; preferably with a concentration in finance, economics, or related discipline
New graduates welcome to apply
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to efficiently prioritize daily processes, ad-hoc requests, and escalated issues
Intermediate or higher Microsoft Excel proficiency
Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with internal and external stakeholders
High level of computer literacy and capability to learn new systems quickly
Team player mentality with ability to work independently
Ability to comprehend data security importance and comply with firm-wide procedures
Knowledge of financial products such as equities, options, futures, mutual funds, collateral, and bonds
Familiarity with market vendor products such as Bloomberg, DTCC, and Omgeo
Familiarity with SWIFT messaging
Interest in foreign markets and global market practices
