About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manage one or more key client relationships, ensuring timely delivery of fund accounting and reporting deliverables
Apply alternative investment fund accounting expertise, focused on private equity limited partnerships
Lead and develop junior staff by setting goals, providing coaching, and contributing to performance reviews
Review fund governing documents, including LPAs, offering documents, side letters, and IMAs
Oversee and review transaction activity, including capital calls, distributions, accruals, and valuation adjustments
Prepare and review workpaper files, capital account statements, investor allocations, and management fee calculations
Build and maintain distribution waterfall models according to fund terms
Review financial statements, supporting schedules, and disclosures
Support and coordinate year-end audits with clients, auditors, and internal teams
Assist with tax reporting support and other client deliverables
Manage client expectations and coordinate timelines with internal teams
Contribute to team and firm initiatives, continuous improvement, and operational excellence

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
7+ years of experience in accounting, with a focus on alternative investment funds, including private equity experience/fund of funds
2+ years of management/supervisory experience
CPA designation a plus
Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and other comprehensive basis of accounting, with an emphasis on investment partnerships
Experience supervising one or two junior professional staff
Significant input into hiring and termination decisions and continuous performance feedback to staff
Hands-on management style with strong leadership skills and ability to develop junior staff
Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to multi-task
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, with advanced Excel skills
Sungard Investran experience a plus
Team player mentality with the ability to work independently
