About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build end-to-end web applications with Django, Django REST Framework, and React
- Design and document versioned REST APIs for other teams and systems
- Implement calculation-heavy business logic, including insurance rating and renewal rules
- Develop thorough automated tests
- Integrate third-party APIs and enterprise data platforms
- Handle rate limits, retries, and audit trails
- Contribute to architecture decisions across projects sharing services and conventions
- Work directly with client stakeholders to clarify requirements and validate results
- Collaborate with client IT and business teams and other Stack Builders engineers on parallel projects
- Work in an environment handling protected health information where correctness is critical
Requirements
What you’ll need- 6+ years of experience in full-stack or backend development
- Strong production experience with Python, Django, and Django REST Framework
- Production experience with React and TypeScript
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and/or a related technical field
- Solid PostgreSQL skills, including schema design and migrations
- Experience designing and integrating REST APIs
- Experience with asynchronous processing using tools such as Celery and Redis
- Strong testing practices using unit tests with pytest and end-to-end tests with Playwright or similar
- Experience deploying containerized applications to a cloud environment; Azure preferred
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or Copilot
- Ability to write clear specifications and review generated code critically
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills
- Comfort working directly with clients
