About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Identify and recruit exceptional candidates for federal and state office
- Partner with AFP state staff and community leaders to assess the political landscape and develop strategies targeting critical public office seats
- Advise senior state leadership on candidate recruitment strategies
- Cultivate relationships with prospective candidates and inspire them to run for elected office
- Connect prospective candidates and key stakeholders to AFP's vision for public policy change
- Conduct and facilitate AFP's Candidate School
- Drive political recruitment strategy and mentor future policy-aligned leaders
Requirements
What you’ll need- Substantial, senior-level experience leading political recruitment and/or political campaign work at the federal level
- Executive presence and ability to build and maintain relationships with policy-aligned candidates, political leaders, elected officials, and other influential figures
- Deep, nuanced understanding of the political landscape and electoral opportunities across a defined region
- Established network of potential policy champions and political influencers
- Willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time
- Enthusiasm for Stand Together's vision and principled approach
- Commitment to transformation, innovation, entrepreneurialism, humility, and respect
