About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Analyze market trends to identify potential business opportunities
  • Maintain a forward-looking solicitation calendar
  • Support Energy Market growth strategies
  • Support Client Service Managers with account planning, capture strategies, go/no-go intelligence gathering, and client engagement
  • Build and maintain opportunity pipelines using CRM and market intelligence tools
  • Identify data gaps and support accurate sales forecasts
  • Support go/no-go documentation and Risk Management Committee presentations
  • Support proposal opportunity number and folder setup, RFP downloads, proposal formatting, scope/fee proposal development, and interview preparations
  • Coordinate with technical delivery teams to keep proposal delivery timelines on schedule and achieve client satisfaction
  • Track and report business development performance metrics, return on investment, and progress toward Energy Market goals
  • Support preparation and coordination of contracts, master services agreements, teaming agreements, and subconsultant agreements
  • Compile information and coordinate internal reviews, approvals, and execution
  • Support conference planning by preparing meeting intelligence, tracking leads, and coordinating follow-up actions
  • Travel as required
  • Report directly to the Energy Market Leader
  • Partner with the Market Leader, Growth Leaders, Client Service Managers, and Inside Sales Managers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, economics, marketing, communications, data analytics, or a related field
  • Five or more years of relevant experience in the energy industry or in business development, market research, proposal development, or a related role within the architecture, engineering, construction, utility, or professional services industries
  • Understanding of engineering firm structure and energy markets, including stakeholder management, utilities, renewables, capital programs, procurement practices, and the regulatory environment
  • Demonstrated experience supporting business development activities
  • Intermediate-level expertise in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, other common office software packages, CRM systems, and pipeline-management tools
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and coordination skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize deadlines, appointments, and projects
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong writing, editing, and presentation-development skills
  • Ability to organize complex technical and business information into clear, concise, and visually effective materials
  • Detail- and results-oriented approach
  • Ability to solve problems and follow through with limited supervision
  • Adaptability and openness to learning new processes, data sources, and technologies
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with appropriate care and discretion
