About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage and perform electrical projects
  • Perform electrical system analysis, including load flow, short circuit, coordination and arc flash studies
  • Design electrical systems in accordance with the NEC
  • Provide power to mechanical building systems
  • Design campus distribution and building low-voltage systems
  • Work as a discipline lead or project engineer on Energy, Infrastructure, Federal, and International Projects
  • Work on projects of varying sizes and locations for higher education, utility, federal, municipal, and industrial clients

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET accredited College or University
  • Professional engineering license
  • 8-12 years of experience in electrical consulting engineering
  • Experience designing medium voltage systems (4.16kV, 12.47kV and 13.8kV) and equipment such as pad mount switches, switchgear and transformers
  • Experience designing low voltage systems (208Y/120V, 480Y/277V) for industrial and higher education facilities
  • High proficiency in developing electrical engineering drawings and specifications
  • Thorough understanding of the National Electrical Code
  • Thorough understanding of NFPA 101 Life Safety Code
  • Thorough understanding of NFPA 780 Standard for Installation of Lightning Protection Systems
  • Thorough understanding of NFPA 110 Emergency and Standby Power Systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with ETAP, SKM or Easypower
  • Proficiency with AGI Lighting Software
  • AutoCAD/Revit a plus
