About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and manage the Tool Hire team to ensure an efficient, safe and high-quality service
- Deliver tool hire targets, focusing on cross-selling and upselling
- Build customer relationships and identify opportunities to grow tool hire sales
- Coach, support and develop colleagues through regular feedback
- Manage tool hire stock, inventory and availability
- Maintain tool hire standards, processes and Health & Safety requirements
- Support customer deliveries and collections when required, ensuring equipment is handled and secured safely
- Resolve customer queries and complaints and deliver positive outcomes
- Work with the Branch Manager and wider branch team to achieve branch targets and provide an excellent customer experience
- Lead regular team communications and promote a positive, collaborative, customer-focused culture
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience of leading or managing a team, ideally within tool hire, equipment hire, builders’ merchants or a similar environment
- Strong customer focus and ability to build relationships and identify sales opportunities
- Commercial awareness and proven ability to deliver sales growth through cross-selling and upselling
- Good knowledge of tool hire products, equipment and associated processes, or ability to develop this knowledge quickly
- Confident and supportive leadership style, with ability to coach, motivate and hold colleagues accountable
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities in a busy branch environment
- Commitment to high standards of Health & Safety and operational compliance
- Collaborative approach and ability to work effectively across the wider branch team
- Proactive attitude, confidence to take ownership, solve problems and deliver great customer service
- Ability to work Monday-Friday 07:30-17:00 and every other Saturday 08:00-12:00
