About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Administer all aspects of the Client Protection Fund claims process
- Review, research, investigate, and analyze claim applications for compliance with the Fund’s Declaration of Trust
- Prepare denial letters, correspondence, memoranda, charts, tables, reports, and comprehensive claim summaries
- Make recommendations to the Board of Trustees regarding claim adjudication
- Respond to claimant requests by phone, email, and correspondence
- Coordinate with Accounting and the Board of Trustees to facilitate approved claim payments
- Create and maintain dockets, department files, and confidential Fund records
- Prepare and distribute Board of Trustees meeting agendas and materials
- Coordinate and staff Board meetings, prepare agendas, and take minutes
- Prepare the Fund’s annual report with Accounting
- Report, summarize, and track information and statistical data for General Counsel, trustees, governors, and the Arizona Supreme Court
- Network with other Client Protection Fund Administrators to monitor trends and procedures
- Review Fund policies and procedures and recommend updates
- Attend conferences and prepare and present summary reports
- Prepare trustee reimbursement paperwork
- Provide backup support for Conservatorship and Fee Arbitration programs
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or American Bar Association (ABA) formal paralegal training required
- Three (3) or more years paraprofessional legal experience with emphasis on large document cases or as a program administrator, preferably in a legal environment
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Strong public speaking ability in small to large-size groups
- Excellent customer-service skills
- Strong analytical ability to gather and summarize data for reports
- High level of interpersonal skills to handle confidential, highly sensitive information
- Poise, tact, and diplomacy
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and demonstrate initiative
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing tasks and demands
- Ability to work in a team and contribute to a positive team environment
- Microsoft Windows environment with Office Suite, including document formatting and production
- Familiarity with office management systems and automation
- Valid Arizona driver’s license, automobile insurance coverage, and access to an automobile
- Regular attendance required
