About the role

Requirements
What you’ll need- Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in North Carolina
- Attach cover letter, résumé, and writing sample
- Knowledge of federal, state, common, and constitutional law
- Knowledge of judicial procedures and rules of evidence
- Knowledge of NC General Statutes to prosecute criminal cases
- Knowledge of legal research methods, techniques, sources, databases, and other research tools
- Skill in interpreting and applying complex criminal laws
- Skill in legal research and electronic legal research systems
- Skill in negotiating plea agreements
- Ability to plan, develop, and execute effective litigation strategies
- Ability to prepare, organize, and conduct witness examinations
- Ability to deliver opening statements, closing arguments, and evidentiary objections
- Ability to write reports, motions, briefs, and other legal documents
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing and work independently
