About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform technical direct and indirect nursing care under the supervision or direction of a registered nurse, licensed physician, or dentist
  • Perform nursing procedures and specialized functions in accordance with knowledge, skills, and licensure
  • Participate in evaluating responses to interventions
  • Teach basic nursing skills and related principles
  • Delegate nursing care tasks, including measuring vital signs, administering enemas, collecting specimens, and measuring intake and output
  • Assist in assessing, reporting, and recording patient, family, and group health status
  • Participate in developing and implementing appropriate aspects of care plans
  • Administer medications as ordered
  • Report patient information to supervisors or appropriate health team members
  • Serve as Charge Nurse, supervising staff performing medication administration and patient care
  • Provide guidance and training for complex nursing tasks
  • Assign and review work and ensure quality of care meets established standards
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Valid permanent Oklahoma license as a licensed practical nurse approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing, or an LPN license recognized by the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)
  • Two years of practical nursing experience
  • Knowledge of nursing techniques, procedures, practices, and theory
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Knowledge of infection control measures
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment
  • Ability to follow detailed oral or written instructions
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to provide nursing care to patients or clients
  • Ability to monitor and direct the work of others
  • Sufficient proficiency in the English language to perform essential job functions
