About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support and assist Client Operations and operational Shared Service teams/Centers of Excellence by monitoring and processing custody, accounting, and middle-office-related events in fund records
- Ensure accurate and timely event processing
- Follow up promptly on exception situations and facilitate timely problem resolution
- Mitigate corporate risk and deliver excellent client service
- Support effective people management
- Develop and implement operational strategies supporting company business goals
- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline operations, increase efficiency, and reduce costs
- Manage people, budget, and technology resources to achieve operational objectives
- Track KPIs, identify improvement areas, and take corrective actions
- Lead and develop managers and staff within the operations department
- Manage the operational budget and ensure efficient resource allocation and cost control
- Collaborate with executive teams to ensure organizational alignment and coordination
- Ensure operations deliver high-quality products or services meeting customer needs
- Identify and mitigate potential operational risks
- Contribute to process and people development and improve team risk standards
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or Economics with a specialization in Business, Accounting, Finance, or another finance-related program
- 10–16 years of experience in accounting, finance, mutual fund operations, loan servicing, or related careers preferred
- Understanding of costs and budgets at the Officer level
- Ability to lead and drive cost and budget-related initiatives
- Ability to drive a pay-for-performance culture and performance differentiation
- Ability to collaborate across functions, businesses, and locations
- Executive presence and effective communication across regional and global stakeholder groups
- Ability to embed a risk excellence culture across teams
- Ability to encourage and drive a culture of change and ideation
- Ability to drive efficiency and automation initiatives
- Sound understanding of technology tools, AI, and Agile frameworks preferred
- Deep knowledge of the end-to-end corporate action and income cycle, fund accounting, bond concepts, dividends, mandatory and voluntary corporate action events, corporate action event lifecycle, entitlement, election, payment, post-payment validation checks and controls, and relevant regulations
