About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of infrastructure engineers while managing workload, priorities, performance, succession planning, and career development
  • Foster accountability, collaboration, engineering discipline, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning
  • Oversee engineering, administration, and support of enterprise Windows Server, VMware, Nutanix, and physical server environments
  • Lead incident, problem, change, and service-improvement activities as a senior escalation point
  • Manage server deployment and lifecycle activities, including rack and stack, hardware installation, operating system builds, provisioning, decommissioning, VMware ESXi installation, and Nutanix cluster deployment
  • Ensure data center standards, hardware lifecycle controls, asset tracking, capacity planning, and technology refresh requirements
  • Lead infrastructure modernization, virtualization, migration, upgrade, and cloud-transformation initiatives across VMware, Nutanix, data center, Azure, and AWS environments
  • Drive standardization, infrastructure-as-code, automation, and self-service capabilities
  • Develop operational procedures, engineering standards, runbooks, dashboards, metrics, and leadership reporting
  • Collaborate with business, architecture, security, operations, vendors, and stakeholders on upgrades, refresh programs, migrations, risk remediation, and service delivery priorities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 12+ years of infrastructure engineering and operations experience, including at least 3 years in a people-leadership role
  • Proven experience managing enterprise Windows Server, VMware, Nutanix, physical server, and data center environments
  • Demonstrated success leading infrastructure projects, platform migrations, modernization programs, and cross-functional engineering teams
  • Experience with Azure and/or AWS is preferred
  • ITIL, VMware, Nutanix, Microsoft, or cloud certifications are preferred
  • Demonstrated people leadership, strategic thinking, technical leadership, project delivery, problem solving, and continuous-improvement capabilities
  • Deep understanding of enterprise server hardware, virtualization architecture, operating systems, storage, networking, high availability, capacity management, and data center operations
  • Strong experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, NSX, HCX, Nutanix Prism Central and AHV, Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP
  • Practical knowledge of PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, infrastructure automation, infrastructure-as-code, operational dashboards, and reporting
  • Excellent communication, executive reporting, vendor management, and stakeholder-management skills
  • Strong risk, security, compliance, change-management, and operational-governance mindset in a large enterprise environment
  • Ability to provide leadership coverage outside standard business hours when required
  • Work schedule and location will align with business and leadership requirements; flexibility may be required to support global stakeholders and critical infrastructure activities
