About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as strategic partner and advisor to the COO and lead integrated management of the Office of the COO
- Coordinate business management, strategic execution, Finance Technology and organizational transformation across the global COO organization
- Lead enterprise-wide business management, portfolio and program governance, financial planning, vendor and third-party oversight, market data, Finance Technology, communications and Office of the COO activities
- Establish operating cadence, governance, management information and cross-functional coordination to translate strategy into measurable outcomes
- Set strategic and operational objectives with the COO and track performance, variances, issues, dependencies and corrective actions
- Build relationships across executive leadership and advance strategic initiatives
- Drive productivity and efficiency metrics, business scorecards and executive reporting
- Lead quarterly business reviews and coordinate leadership-team follow-up
- Manage projects, initiatives and commitments tied to the COO’s priorities
- Maintain critical-path initiative inventory and provide visibility into progress and risks
- Co-lead annual strategic investment prioritization with Finance
- Lead confidential, time-sensitive and special projects assigned by the COO
- Partner on operational efficiency, client experience and employee experience initiatives
- Manage annual budget, mid-year forecast, budget requests, operating metrics, dashboards and strategic plan development
- Own the Finance Technology strategy, operating model and multi-year roadmap
- Lead and develop the Finance Technology team and establish delivery priorities and capacity plans
- Translate business priorities into scalable technology capabilities and an integrated delivery portfolio
- Oversee financial planning, management reporting, revenue and expense management, profitability, fund financial data and business performance analytics capabilities
- Govern the Finance Technology portfolio, including prioritization, investment cases, resource allocation, delivery milestones and benefits realization
- Modernize and simplify finance platforms, data flows and reporting processes
- Define Finance Technology architecture and data strategy
- Manage strategic technology vendor and service-provider relationships
- Ensure alignment with technology standards, security, data governance and financial reporting obligations
- Serve as senior technology partner to IM Finance leadership
- Define and execute the COO communications strategy
- Coordinate executive materials for presentations, town halls, client meetings and industry engagements
- Lead employee engagement, change management and organizational transformation efforts
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least 10 years of progressive executive leadership experience spanning strategy, global program or portfolio execution and people management
- Demonstrated success leading and developing high-performing, cross-organizational teams in a complex global environment
- Significant experience leading technology, finance transformation or finance systems teams and delivering complex multi-year change
- Experience transforming a complex global organization to a product operating model
- Demonstrated experience enabling agile delivery through multidisciplinary product teams
- Experience leading enterprise AI-enabled transformation
- Investment management experience required
- Experience supporting investment management finance and fund-related technology capabilities strongly preferred
- International experience preferred
- Undergraduate degree required
- Advanced degree or professional certification, such as an MBA or CFA, preferred
- Strategic, financial and commercial acumen
- Strong knowledge of investment management and related financial, operational, data and technology capabilities
- Proven ability to lead Finance Technology teams and complex multi-year portfolios
- Experience modernizing platforms, data environments, integrations and reporting capabilities
- Exceptional program management, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced written, verbal and executive communication skills
- High standards of ethics, integrity, inclusion, accountability and discretion
