About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Plan, design, develop, and maintain data architecture, data models, and best-practice standards for Data Analytics and Integration projects in Snowflake
- Incorporate new features and model subject areas for integration with existing structures
- Create and continuously enhance documentation for deployments, data architectures, data flows, and data models
- Develop and maintain automation enabling self-service and platform management capabilities
- Lead and complete multiple complex technical projects
- Create high-level solution designs, architecture, and infrastructure diagrams
- Own technical solutions from a design and architecture perspective and provide fit-for-platform guidance
- Deliver using an onshore/offshore model in a matrix organization
- Gather end-user requirements and write technical documentation
- Propose innovative solutions using new technologies and product features
- Collaborate with application development teams to understand business needs, capture requirements, identify pain areas, and propose solutions
- Manage pipelines using Terraform scripts to deploy resources
- Provide engineering analysis and support for Snowflake account creation and project onboarding
- Enforce enterprise security and compliance standards
- Provide administrative support and work with vendors on environment issues
- Evaluate automation needs and propose solution options
- Work with production management and cloud teams on database-related automation and solutions
- Provide resolution for data pipeline issues proactively and as they arise
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience working with Snowflake
- 5+ years of experience in Data Analytics and Integration projects
- End-to-end implementation experience with Snowflake cloud data warehouse on AWS and Azure; optionally GCP
- Deep expertise in Snowflake advanced concepts including resource monitors, RBAC controls, virtual warehouse sizing, query performance tuning, zero-copy clone, time travel, and cost governance
- Proficiency in Snowflake data modeling, ELT using Snowflake SQL, complex stored procedures, and standard DWH and ETL concepts
- Experience developing and managing CI/CD pipelines using Git repositories and DevOps for Infrastructure-as-Code deployments
- Experience with Terraform, Ansible, Python, or similar tools
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake utilities, SnowSQL, Snowpipe, and big data migration techniques
- Experience migrating data from RDBMS to Snowflake cloud data warehouse
- Deep understanding of relational and optionally NoSQL data stores, including star schema, snowflake schema, and dimensional modeling
- Experience with data security, data access controls, and security design
- Experience with AWS and Azure PaaS, including S3 and ADLS
- Proficiency reviewing complex SQL code to tune, troubleshoot, and resolve performance challenges
- Ability to resolve complicated data pipeline problems across infrastructure, platform, and application domains
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to lead DevOps and automation resources
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Solid knowledge of the software development life cycle, including development, testing, and deployment
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced development environment
- Snowflake cloud data warehouse Architect certification is good to have
- Understanding and working knowledge of Databricks
