About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work with business and technology partners to understand how data is created, moves between systems, and is used in operations
  • Investigate discrepancies between system data and operational reality, identify root causes, and coordinate resolution
  • Explain data issues and business impacts to technical and nontechnical audiences
  • Translate data governance policies and control requirements into processes, tools, and guidance
  • Document workflows and convert complex processes or business needs into requirements, instructions, and decisions
  • Partner with delivery teams to define requirements, review solutions, validate results, and support adoption
  • Analyze data quality results, metrics, and trends and recommend focus areas
  • Write requirements, decision papers, management updates, and user guidance
  • Bring teams together to resolve issues, reach decisions, and implement changes
  • Identify opportunities to simplify or automate manual processes
  • Support regulatory and audit responses by organizing evidence, explaining completed work, and tracking actions
  • Help implement data governance policies, standards, control frameworks, and operating models across the enterprise

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience implementing enterprise data governance frameworks, data governance controls, or supporting technology solutions
  • Experience with Collibra or similar data governance, metadata management, data catalog, or related platforms preferred
  • Experience supporting BCBS 239, regulatory remediation, internal audit, risk management, or financial services governance initiatives preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Engineering, Risk Management, Business/Finance, a related discipline, or equivalent experience required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Hands-on experience working with data, including SQL or comparable tools
  • Ability to understand data models and trace information across systems
  • Excellent writing skills and experience creating clear documentation and requirements
  • Strong interpersonal and coordination skills
  • Sound judgment and ability to turn ambiguous requests into clear plans and deliverables
  • Experience improving a process or helping a team adopt a change
  • Familiarity with data governance, metadata, lineage, controls, or financial services
  • Experience with Collibra, JIRA, or Confluence helpful
  • Ability to learn new tools
