About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work with business and technology partners to understand how data is created, moves between systems, and used in operations
- Investigate discrepancies between system data and operational reality, identify root causes, and coordinate resolution
- Understand data models and data flows and explain issues and business impact to technical and nontechnical audiences
- Translate data governance policies and control requirements into practical processes, tools, and guidance
- Document workflows and turn complex processes or business needs into requirements, instructions, and decisions
- Partner with delivery teams to define requirements, review solutions, validate results, and support adoption
- Analyze data quality results, metrics, and trends and recommend focus areas
- Write requirements, decision papers, management updates, and user guidance
- Coordinate cross-team issue resolution, decision-making, and implementation of changes
- Identify opportunities to simplify or automate manual processes
- Support regulatory and audit responses by organizing evidence, explaining completed work, and tracking remaining actions
- Help implement data governance policies, standards, control frameworks, and operating models aligned with industry standards, regulatory expectations, and risk objectives
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience implementing enterprise data governance frameworks, data governance controls, or supporting technology solutions
- Experience with Collibra or similar data governance, metadata management, data catalog, or related platforms preferred
- Experience supporting BCBS 239, regulatory remediation, internal audit, risk management, or financial services governance initiatives preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Engineering, Risk Management, Business/Finance, a related discipline, or equivalent experience required
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Hands-on experience working with data, including SQL or comparable tools
- Ability to understand data models and trace information across systems
- Excellent writing skills and experience creating clear documentation and requirements
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Sound judgment and ability to turn broad or ambiguous requests into clear plans and deliverables
- Experience improving a process or helping a team adopt a change
- Familiarity with data governance, metadata, lineage, controls, or financial services
- Experience with tools such as Collibra, JIRA, or Confluence helpful
- Ability to learn new tools
