About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide investment tax and investment law support for retail and special funds, including coordination with clients and the timely processing of distributions, retained earnings, and unit redemptions.
  • Analyze and assess investment tax and investment law matters relating to investment funds.
  • Prepare components of the annual financial statements, particularly reports on changes in the fund’s net assets, income and expense statements, and the appropriation of income.
  • Support the implementation and execution of controls for the technical review of external tax service providers.
  • Act as the central point of contact for auditors, tax advisers, custodians, asset management companies, and internal specialist departments.
  • Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
  • Analyze, optimize, and further develop processes, controls, and workflows, including opportunities for automation.
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects and system implementations or system enhancements.
  • Capture business requirements, conduct testing, and support the implementation of new processes and applications.
  • Ensure high data quality and prepare technical analyses and reports.
  • Provide subject-matter support to colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and ensure compliance with client, tax authority, and regulatory deadlines.
  • Prepare and update process descriptions and internal documentation.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Degree in business administration, economics, or a related field, or comparable banking training combined with relevant professional experience.
  • Professional experience in asset management, fund administration, banking, tax advisory, or auditing, with a focus on investment fund taxation or investment law.
  • Experience coordinating end-to-end processes in collaboration with internal specialist departments and external service providers.
  • Extensive knowledge of investment funds, capital market instruments, and investment fund taxation at both fund and investor level.
  • Experience supporting audits and projects and performing controls.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel, Word, Outlook, and Access.
  • Experience with SimCorp, FlexTax, or comparable applications is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated contribution to the standardization, automation, or digitalization of tax-related or control-related processes.
  • Strong affinity for IT and experience in process digitalization and automation, as well as using data analysis and reporting tools and modern technologies, including AI-powered applications.
  • Fluent written and spoken German and English.
