About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Act as a valued partner to the Alternatives Business in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risk
  • Ensure the BRM framework, principles, and methodologies are consistently adopted by the Alternatives leadership team
  • Provide strategic and tactical leadership on the effectiveness of the risk and control environment
  • Challenge and report on the Alternatives risk profile and potential operational exposures
  • Monitor risk reduction and remediate areas of risk
  • Collaborate with Global Delivery Business Risk Management and the wider business
  • Liaise and coordinate with internal departments, regulators, and external parties on non-financial risks
  • Support implementation of globally consistent risk and control practices
  • Lead risk and control strategies and risk culture change
  • Develop business risk professionals and deliver risk excellence across operational activities
  • Align risk management practices with firmwide risk and control objectives

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Over 15 years' experience within financial services or risk management, in non-financial risk management or business management
  • Enterprise leadership skills managing risk across regions
  • Experience interfacing at a senior level with clients, service providers, and regulators
  • Strong team leadership, coaching, mentoring, communication, and presentation skills
  • Experience with talent management, technology optimization, and operational risk management
  • Strategic thinking and ability to manage complexity, change, and multiple priorities
  • Experience with change management programs in risk sponsorship or leadership roles
  • Proven leadership and ability to manage and develop high-performing operational teams
  • Ability to work in a large, global, matrixed organization
  • Relevant graduate degree or master's qualification
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities
  • Cross-cultural awareness and ability to collaborate globally
