About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead a team responsible for Market Data strategy
  • Develop product/service strategy across Pricing, Reference Data, Index Data, Desktop terminals, Exchange Fees, and Research/News
  • Develop vendor strategy and preferred vendor lists
  • Partner with business and corporate areas to anticipate and meet Market Data needs
  • Optimize spending by eliminating unnecessary demand, using lower-cost alternatives, recovering certain client expenses, and optimizing consumption
  • Identify, initiate, and project-manage cost-reduction initiatives
  • Source products and services from optimal vendors at optimal prices
  • Negotiate and manage large and complex Market Data agreements
  • Advise and guide stakeholders in Market Data sourcing
  • Analyze data to identify cost-reduction opportunities
  • Work with process partners to mitigate risks and realize opportunities
  • Resolve requests and issues and perform daily problem solving
  • Review, negotiate, and draft Market Data contracts, including commercials and terms and conditions
  • Partner with legal and business teams to ensure contracts reflect negotiated terms, usage rights, and other conditions
  • Identify and mitigate risks in contract language
  • Ensure timely completion of the end-to-end contracting process
  • Keep stakeholders informed throughout the procurement lifecycle
  • Collaborate with Third Party Risk Management teams to support policies and procedures and mitigate third-party risk
  • Perform duties in accordance with regulatory compliance guidelines
  • Report to the Global Head of Market Data

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 10+ year proven experience managing high performing global teams
  • Deep understanding of Sourcing and Category Strategy across Global organizations
  • Detailed understanding of the language and structure of contracts
  • Experience in the review, negotiation and drafting of agreements
  • Ability to demonstrate a strategic approach to tackling spend across the entire category
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High intellect, decisiveness, drive, flexibility, integrity, and resilience
  • A Master’s degree and/or Law degree is a plus, not required
