About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assess client needs and identify solutions aligned with CRD’s current design
  • Act as subject-matter expert in analysis, design, scheduling, construction and delivery of client solutions
  • Manage multiple technical initiatives across multiple projects
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of client engagements and lead projects to completion within scope and SOW
  • Gather, analyze and communicate solutions to clients and internal teams
  • Provide technical solution design from presales through implementation
  • Direct and guide less experienced consultants on implementations
  • Identify resource-allocation opportunities
  • Demonstrate expertise in Charles River Investment Management Solution and technical solution areas including infrastructure, performance tuning, development, advanced configuration, troubleshooting and integration
  • Ensure project issues are identified, documented and resolved
  • Mentor consultants assigned to projects
  • Partner with sales teams on sales presentations and proof-of-concept projects
  • Analyze client requirements and design prototypes and proofs of concept
  • Build effective relationships with CRD and clients, manage difficult situations and influence decision makers
  • Solve problems strategically across multiple projects
  • Design and deliver technical training for clients
  • Travel to client sites throughout the United States and Canada

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Front-Office / Buyside / Investment Software trading experience
  • Ability to program using Java and C#
  • In-depth knowledge of at least one RDBMS: Oracle, MS SQL Server or Sybase
  • Detailed knowledge of Tomcat configuration and optimization, N-tier application architecture, SOAP/XML Messaging software, Kafka
  • Knowledge of ETL tools such as Kettle and Talend
  • Familiarity with Windows and Unix (Solaris and Linux)
  • Familiarity with at least one SCM; Subversion or Perforce is a plus
  • Experience with Azure and Snowflake
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Flexibility with schedule and ability to work beyond regular business hours
  • Ability to manage multiple, simultaneous priorities
  • Proven organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to achieve results without close supervision
  • Ability to travel to client sites throughout the United States and Canada
  • Ability to work effectively when remote from clients
  • BA/BS degree in a business or technical field, including Finance, Economics, Engineering or Computer Science
  • Minimum of 8–10 years of progressively responsible experience in the Financial / Software Services industry
