About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Architect cloud and hybrid infrastructure across cloud providers and on-premises locations with multi-region high availability and disaster recovery
- Participate in Site Reliability Engineering practices and automate away operational toil
- Mentor Platform Engineers and participate in knowledge-sharing sessions
- Scale systems sustainably through automation and reliability improvements
- Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems
- Drive the technical vision for Platform Engineering-owned platforms and optimize the technology stack
- Develop software solutions for application and cloud infrastructure management and eliminate ClickOps
- Build a modern platform combining purpose-made code and industry-standard tools
- Develop deployment, monitoring, alerting, and operations automation tools
- Own platform implementation and functionality end-to-end from the end-user perspective
- Maintain live services by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and system performance
- Design and build petabyte-scale systems for high availability, throughput, data consistency, security, and privacy
- Define next-generation data analytics tooling
- Develop scalable data-system solutions for business needs and collaborate in a dynamic, consultative environment
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 8+ years of production engineering and management experience using DevOps tools and methodologies
- Minimum 8+ years developing production code using at least one high-level programming language such as Python, Golang, Ruby, or JavaScript
- Minimum 5+ years of medium- to large-scale production infrastructure management experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Experience building and managing cybersecurity platforms such as Splunk, Sentinel, ELK, Anvilogic, Crogl, or Databricks
- Strong expertise in workflow automation using Ansible, Chef, or Puppet
- Production experience designing and implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi, AWS CDK, or similar tools
- Deep understanding of CI/CD tools and methodology, with production experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines
- Understanding of core cloud security principles and experience securing cloud platforms
- Ability to troubleshoot and measure complex cloud environment performance
- Strong understanding of Linux fundamentals, including networking, filesystems, kernel, and isolation
- Ability to transform business requirements into production-ready software components
- Strong end-to-end ownership, autonomy, and prioritization
- Proven ability to lead projects and cross-team engagements independently
- Production experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog
- Understanding of distributed systems design
- Excellent communication skills
- Hybrid work availability, with 3 days per week in the office and an 8 AM to 5 PM schedule
