About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Enhance and maintain one or more Alpha/Charles River Development modules or components as part of an agile scrum team
Analyze, design, develop, test, and debug large and complex software enhancements and solutions
Modify core frameworks and primary facilities critical to system operation
Collaborate with Business Analysts and Product Managers to create simple and sustainable solutions for complex problems
Direct problem solving for projects or major project phases to resolve software technical issues
Develop, test, debug, and implement software programs, applications, and projects using Java and other needed languages
Provide informed guidance and critical analysis during code reviews
Troubleshoot large, mission-critical client implementations
Participate in agile development through daily standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives
Plan and coordinate cross-team activities to complete assignments
Demonstrate independent design and development
Mentor and guide Junior Engineers

Requirements

What you’ll need

B.S. degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering or other technical course of study required
MS degree strongly preferred
At least 5 years of experience with full lifecycle of project development for Java applications from similar industry
Strong skills in core Java, server-side Java technologies, and Spring frameworks using Agile methodologies and SQL database
Experience in backend technologies like Kafka and Microservices
Experience / understanding of Kubernetes and experience with a cloud platform such as Azure preferred
Experience with object-oriented programming, relational databases (RDBMS), scripting and new/advanced programming languages
Experience with frontend technologies like React preferred
Experience in financial services developing solutions for Wealth Management preferred
