About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Partner with COE stakeholders to gather requirements and understand underlying business problems
  • Own solution design, including business process configuration, calculated fields, condition rules, custom reports, and relevant integration touchpoints
  • Configure solutions directly in Workday
  • Partner with Security on security design and with Data Management on worker data loads and EIBs
  • Evaluate trade-offs among out-of-the-box functionality, configuration workarounds, and process or policy changes
  • Assess cross-module and cross-COE implications of changes
  • Evaluate biannual Workday releases and recommend adoption or deferral of new features
  • Provide architectural input on HR technology initiatives and build-versus-buy decisions
  • Maintain auditable and transferable configuration documentation and design decisions
  • Mentor less-experienced team members on configuration best practices

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 8–10+ years of hands-on Workday configuration experience with direct, verifiable ownership of solution design and configuration
  • Deep, hands-on configuration expertise in at least one of: Core HCM, Advanced Compensation, Recruiting, Performance Management, Talent, Prism Analytics, or Severance
  • Ability to translate an ambiguous business ask into a Workday design
  • Experience owning configuration in a live production tenant, including business process design, calculated fields, condition rules, and custom reports
  • Working knowledge of security and EIB/data load concepts
  • Working knowledge of the broader Workday ecosystem and cross-module impacts
  • Strong consulting instincts and ability to explain recommendations to non-technical stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Experience in an HR Technology Solutions function embedded within a large, matrixed enterprise (nice to have)
  • Exposure to Workday Extend, Workday Learning, Hired Score, or Paradox (nice to have)
  • Experience with M&A-driven Workday configuration work (nice to have)
  • Prior experience mentoring junior analysts or leading a workstream (nice to have)
