About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as senior finance voice with the board, management team, lenders, and shareholders
  • Prepare board materials, financial updates, and ad hoc analyses
  • Own financial projection and cash-runway models
  • Lead FP&A, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and monthly/quarterly reporting
  • Manage lender relationships and support debt covenant compliance and reporting
  • Support fundraising, financing, strategic transactions, data room management, and due diligence
  • Track and report SaaS metrics including ARR, CARR, MRR, GRR, and NRR
  • Translate SaaS metrics into pricing, packaging, and go-to-market insights
  • Own cap table management and equity administration
  • Support monthly close, journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and billing/collections
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial statements and tax filings
  • Support RevOps, sales forecasting, quote-to-cash processes, and commission/comp plan administration
  • Administer and improve Salesforce for accurate reporting and clean data
  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, insurance, and legal/compliance support
  • Identify and implement finance and operations systems and process improvements
  • Define the hiring plan for a Controller and future finance hires
  • Lead the search, hiring, and onboarding of the Controller
  • Build scalable finance/ops processes, systems, and controls

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 7–10+ years of progressive finance experience
  • Meaningful experience as a Controller or in a similarly senior accounting/finance role
  • Strong SaaS industry background
  • Fluency in ARR, CARR, MRR, GRR, and NRR
  • Understanding of unit economics and business strategy
  • Direct experience building and owning financial projection and cash-runway models
  • Experience preparing for and presenting to a board of directors
  • Ideally, direct experience working with lenders and/or shareholders/investors
  • Willingness to perform day-to-day transactional work
  • Ability to operate autonomously in a startup/scale-up environment
  • Strong prioritization skills across a broad mandate
  • CPA (or equivalent) designation preferred, not required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to translate complex financial and operational information for diverse audiences
