About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Promote relationships between the Club and existing Members
- Handle assigned P&I and FDD claims in accordance with company procedures
- Provide advice on claims-related issues and identify the need for loss prevention activity
- Handle a wide range of P&I issues and a substantial Defence caseload, including complex and high-value matters
- Manage caseload independently while seeking guidance from the Syndicate Manager or Claims Directors when appropriate
- Promptly and correctly file electronic correspondence relating to assigned claim files and maintain updated electronic files
- Delegate appropriate work and assist in developing Syndicate Assistants' capabilities
- Contribute to the continuous development of company procedures and systems
- Produce relevant articles for Club publications
- Support Syndicate Underwriting objectives
- Attend appropriate training and develop relevant knowledge and skills
- Carry out other duties and ad hoc duties as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Previous experience handling shipping litigation and dispute resolution, from either another P&I club, insurer, law firm, ship owner or ship agent
- Excellent communication skills, including negotiating, presenting, and reporting (written and verbal)
- Ability to build and maintain effective business relationships at all levels, internally and externally
- Highly organised, motivated, and enthusiastic with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to deliver high-quality work within agreed timeframes and prioritise individual workload
- Fluent Greek and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills in both languages
- Proactive and able to use own initiative
- Ability to work within a team
