About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Direct accounting operations, fiscal plans, and policies
- Maintain fiscal records and prepare financial reports for business units
- Lead and manage Accounting Department staff
- Meet corporate and federally mandated reporting requirements
- Manage, train, and evaluate accounting staff
- Partner with Senior Management on business unit trends, reporting, and analytics
- Lead annual budgeting and monthly/quarterly forecasting
- Lead the financial closing process for accuracy and timeliness
- Analyze costs and collaborate with Operations/Engineering on variances and corrective actions
- Develop and update standard costs for material, labor, and overhead
- Manage product cost roll-up and annual standard cost roll
- Analyze inventory valuation and reserve calculations
- Lead manufacturing performance variance analysis and prepare performance reports
- Lead capital spending plans and capital appropriation requests
- Manage Net Working Capital and inventory optimization
- Prepare rolling cash forecasts and manage cash flow
- Conduct cost modeling and scenario analyses
- Perform special projects and ad hoc analyses
- Review accounting standards, policies, and procedures for GAAP compliance
- Maintain files and records for the accounting function
- Review staff performance and recommend personnel actions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree Accounting or Finance required
- 15+ years of accounting/finance experience and 2+ years of cost accounting
- Manufacturing experience required; Defense industry strongly preferred
- 10+ years of experience in a supervisory capacity required
- Strong leadership skills
- Infor LN highly preferred
- Experience with ERP systems
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S. (e.g. Green Card holder), or a protected individual as defined by ITAR
