About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Run Stellar's customer projects end to end, from kick-off through deployment
- Own project scope, schedule, quality, and delivery across software development and operations
- Break project scope into actionable work and create and prioritize tickets in the shared backlog
- Keep priorities visible to engineering and operations
- Anticipate workload shifts throughout the project lifecycle, including operational ramp-up at deployment
- Track progress against commitments and surface slippage early
- Act as the primary customer contact for delivery, reporting, and progress reviews
- Translate between customer expectations and internal technical realities
- Manage scope changes and their effects on schedule and capacity
- Understand and appropriately apply software and operations team practices, including engineering practices and agile cadence
- Review and evolve working practices as teams and tools change
- Coordinate sequencing across software development and operations
- Resolve capacity conflicts and escalate cross-project priority conflicts to the CPTO
- Maintain a direct channel with team leads for urgent requests
- Report to the Chief Product and Technology Officer and work alongside the Directors of Software Development and Operations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven experience managing technical projects end to end in an environment combining software development and deployment
- Track record of coordinating across teams without direct authority and getting commitments to hold
- Proven ability to work with distributed, international teams, including fully remote and hybrid colleagues
- Comfortable running projects with external customers, including challenging scope and schedule conversations
- Genuine affinity for technology and curiosity about how things work
- Ability to follow technical discussions, ask the right questions, challenge estimates, and understand trade-offs
- Working knowledge of agile delivery and project-level planning and customer commitments
- Hands-on experience with Jira or an equivalent backlog and project tracking tool
- Strong documentation habits
- English professional proficiency expected
- French is a plus
- Project management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, PSM, or CSM is preferred
- Experience managing projects involving hardware deployment alongside software delivery is preferred
- Experience in a scale-up environment is preferred
- Experience working across time zones and cultures on customer-facing projects is preferred
