About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own complex customer incidents involving infrastructure, applications, connectivity and Stellar products from qualification through resolution
- Keep customers informed and escalate to Engineering with documented root-cause analysis
- Reproduce issues in the lab and analyse logs, packet captures, routing, tunnels, system metrics and source code
- Translate customer requirements into PoC scope, test plans and success criteria
- Prepare, configure and deploy PoC environments; execute tests, analyse results and document conclusions and recommendations
- Explain Stellar's architecture, capabilities and use cases to technical and non-technical audiences
- Deliver product demonstrations and answer customer questions
- Stage hardware for customer delivery by flashing firmware, provisioning devices, registering them on the management platform and testing them end to end
- Install and configure edge devices, gateways, virtual machines and connectivity services
- Support onboarding, upgrades and operational handovers
- Deploy dedicated STEER® Management and STEER® Gateway instances on Stellar-hosted VPS or customer premises
- Configure and validate instances with customers, lead on-site installations and run instances in operation
- Train customers on the STEER® Suite and provide ongoing rollout support
- Write and maintain API guides, user guides, FAQs and internal/external wikis
- Act as the operations point of reference for Engineering, Product and Sales
- Maintain lab and demonstration environments and contribute to product testing and release validation
- Develop scripts, tools and reusable procedures
- Turn customer feedback into input for Engineering and Product
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of experience in network operations, technical support, field engineering or a similar hands-on technical role
- Strong practical knowledge of TCP/IP, subnetting, routing, switching, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, NAT, firewalls and VPNs
- Confident troubleshooting of latency, jitter, packet loss and MTU issues
- Confident administration and troubleshooting of embedded and Debian Linux
- Understanding of SD-WAN, overlay and underlay networks, tunnel establishment, traffic steering, link monitoring, failover and multipath connectivity
- Understanding of cellular 4G/5G, satellite GEO/LEO, fibre and point-to-point links
- Understanding of edge device interaction with central management platforms, including provisioning, configuration push, monitoring and APIs
- Experience deploying, configuring and troubleshooting VMs, virtual networking and host resources using KVM/QEMU, Proxmox or VMware
- Expert use of Wireshark, tcpdump, iperf and standard Linux networking utilities
- Scripting in Bash or Python
- Ability to read and understand existing code
- Familiarity with APIs and Git
- Strong analytical rigour, curiosity and persistence in investigation
- Clear customer communication and structured problem-solving
- Professional proficiency in English
- French a plus
- Preferred: experience with OpenWrt, embedded Linux distributions or edge computing
- Preferred: previous involvement in customer support, technical demonstrations or PoC delivery
