About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as a part-time online theory instructor in the Optician Diploma Program
- Teach DOPD120: Professional Practice & Office Procedures
- Teach DOPD130: Foundations of Optics
- Deliver synchronous online sessions Monday to Friday from 9am–12pm
- Work a typical schedule of 25 hours per week
- Help educate future Opticians across Canada
- Collaborate with the Stenberg College team to support student success
Requirements
What you’ll need- Licensed and practicing Optician
- Completion of an accredited Optician program
- Minimum of two years’ experience in eyeglass dispensing and contact lens fitting
- Intermediate computer skills (Email, Internet search and navigation, Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Extensive organizational experience
- Experience in edging would be an asset
- Experience in fitting gas permeable lenses an asset
- Understands guidelines set out by COBC
- Completion of Adult Learning Certification is preferred
- Passionate about investing in students and the Opticianry industry
