About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide technical input across equipment-level systems and electronic hardware development activities
  • Plan and coordinate technical work packages to support project delivery
  • Collaborate with project managers and multidisciplinary engineering teams across systems, safety, mechanical, software, simulation and electronics
  • Support requirements development, systems architecture, interface definition, integration planning and verification activities
  • Contribute to the design, specification, verification and validation of electronic controllers for electromechanical aerospace systems
  • Support development of engineering artefacts and technical evidence throughout the product lifecycle
  • Participate in technical reviews
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes and practices
  • Support electronic controller products from early definition through design, integration, testing and delivery

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Systems Engineering or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent relevant industry experience
  • Strong understanding of electronics hardware, electronic controller development, or equipment-level systems engineering
  • Ability to work across the full engineering lifecycle, from requirements and architecture through to integration, verification and validation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured and pragmatic engineering approach
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively within multi-disciplinary engineering teams
  • Self-motivated, adaptable and capable of managing multiple technical priorities
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience using requirements management tools such as Polarion or DOORS is desired
  • Exposure to DO-254 planning processes, development activities or SOI audits is desired
  • Experience working directly with customers is desired
  • Candidates must be eligible to work on restricted UK programmes; only UK nationals will be considered
  • Relevant experience in systems engineering, hardware engineering, electronics engineering, electronic systems engineering or FPGA gateware engineering is beneficial
  • Experience with requirements capture, system architecture, electronic hardware design and development, integration and testing, verification and validation, multidisciplinary engineering, power electronics, motor drives, communication interface electronics, position sensing, FPGA-based systems, environmental qualification, aerospace standards, aircraft certification standards or space-programme assurance frameworks is beneficial
