About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Make the autonomous platform dependable enough to trust with autonomous action
Harden agent dispatch with circuit breakers, correct retry semantics, health-aware routing, and failure-surfacing error handling
Add a caching layer and event-streaming backbone
Decide whether to remain as-is, move to Kubernetes, or adopt an intermediate orchestration approach, then execute the decision
Introduce infrastructure as code and mature deployment practices
Refactor toward per-session isolation so concurrent agent runs are safe
Own service scaffolding standards, testing strategy, CI, and platform observability
Rotate through Systems and SRE embeds
Serve as technical deputy and make decisions when the Chief Architect is unavailable

Requirements

What you’ll need

A long record of shipping and hardening complex distributed systems as a hands-on engineer at senior level
Real experience taking a fast-built system to production dependability, including idempotency, circuit breaking, backpressure, and observable degradation
Range across Python and Java
Comfort in backend services, data infrastructure, and deployment
Judgment about orchestration and scaling grounded in operating systems
Kubernetes at production scale, event streaming, and CI at scale are nice to have
