About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Create data products that address diverse business needs
- Serve as a bridge between business needs and the data platform
- Build data pipelines to improve and expand the availability of metrics in the lakehouse
- Create monitoring and tests that ensure the end-to-end quality of developed pipelines
- Understand business rules in collaboration with product teams
- Apply data modeling best practices to ensure the performance and quality of data products
- Contribute to the design, documentation, maintenance, monitoring, and optimization of production code, tools, and data pipelines (ETL/ELT)
- Translate business needs into solutions aligned with the data platform’s tools and strategies
- Negotiate with stakeholders to define a data strategy that delivers the greatest impact
Requirements
What you’ll need- Be passionate about data
- Be able to write optimized SQL queries to solve highly complex problems
- Experience with various advanced data modeling techniques for analytical purposes (e.g., Data Lake, Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, Data Mart, etc.)
- Experience with cloud computing, particularly AWS and its services
- Theoretical and practical knowledge of Google BigQuery and/or Databricks
- Practical experience with programming languages used for analytics (e.g., Python, R, Scala, etc.)
- Experience with data pipeline quality and observability, using monitoring, automated tests, and similar practices
- Ability to abstract business concepts into quantitative metrics (e.g., KPIs, OKRs, etc.)
- Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Looker, Power BI, Tableau, etc.
- Strong communication skills for working with technical and business stakeholders
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders and the ability to lead data discussions toward a shared definition
- Ability to challenge existing metrics and propose improvements to how they are measured
- Experience partnering with business teams to define metrics
