About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide strong technical influence within the team by sharing knowledge of architectural patterns and code design
- Support the team’s software engineers
- Help raise the team’s technical standards while remaining hands-on with the code
- Develop new features and improve Stone’s mobile platform ecosystem
- Work cross-functionally on major projects with the Interaction Platform team
- Help the company build out its platforms and adopt mobile development best practices
- Handle ambiguous problems and challenging prioritization, balancing deadlines and quality
- Participate in solution-detail decisions and help resolve complex problems
- Ensure product/platform quality, scalability, and adherence to best practices
- Promote knowledge sharing and mentoring
- Provide visibility into the team’s work
- Define, collect, analyze, and monitor application/product health metrics
- Participate in pair programming, code reviews, and refinement sessions
- Identify opportunities to improve the mobile platform, processes, and developer experience
Requirements
What you’ll need- Hands-on experience with KMP (Kotlin Multiplatform) is essential
- Strong Android development experience, including Kotlin and Jetpack Compose
- Strong knowledge of architectural patterns and code design, using consistent and well-documented coding standards
- Knowledge of modular architecture and componentization
- Knowledge of unit, integration, and functional testing
- Experience investigating, troubleshooting, and debugging systems
- Ability to integrate RESTful APIs, cloud services such as Firebase, local and remote data storage, authentication, and push notifications
- Knowledge of CI/CD structures and automated pipelines
- Experience publishing apps to the Play Store and/or App Store
- Knowledge of agile software development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban
- Ability to influence priority-setting and estimate timelines together with the team
- Experience working in a robust, scalable architecture environment
- Ability to communicate concisely, candidly, and clearly, both verbally and in writing
