Key responsibilities & impact

Lead and manage software engineers on assigned domain teams
Provide hands-on technical guidance and direction
Conduct code reviews and enforce engineering standards, coding conventions, documentation, code quality, and testing requirements
Mentor senior engineers and technical leads
Participate in technical design, architecture, and implementation discussions
Drive continuous improvement in engineering practices, tools, and processes
Drive adoption of AI-powered coding tools to achieve targeted 60% productivity gains
Champion AI coding technologies and provide training, mentorship, and best practices
Use JellyFish analytics to measure productivity, AI adoption, efficiency gains, bottlenecks, improvement targets, and ROI
Evaluate emerging AI coding tools and techniques
Own delivery of StoreForce SaaS application releases and hotfixes
Manage release planning, scheduling, coordination, hotfix prioritization, and deployment with project managers and DevOps
Provide workload, effort, and delivery timeline estimates
Identify and mitigate delivery and quality risks
Recruit, mentor, evaluate, and develop engineering talent
Set objectives, monitor progress, and conduct performance evaluations
Build a cohesive, high-performing distributed team culture
Own and continuously improve the SDLC process
Drive technical debt reduction and system maintainability
Maintain and secure code repositories and version control processes
Collaborate with Systems Architects, DevOps Managers, QA, Product, and Deployment teams
Report delivery status, risks, and team performance to the VP of Engineering and Delivery
Resolve critical production issues according to service level agreements
Lead post-mortems and implement preventive measures

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
8–10 years of software development experience
5+ years in technical leadership or management roles
Hands-on experience with AI-powered coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and Amazon CodeWhisperer, with demonstrated productivity gains
Proven track record driving AI adoption across engineering teams and evangelizing new practices
Experience with engineering productivity platforms such as JellyFish or similar analytics tools
Strong hands-on experience with .NET, ASP.NET, .NET Core, Azure, and SQL Server
Proven track record leading distributed teams across multiple locations and time zones
Experience conducting code reviews and establishing engineering standards in production environments
Deep understanding of software testing practices, including unit testing and test automation
Experience managing monolithic architecture evolution and addressing technical debt
Proven success delivering SaaS software releases in retail software or similar domains
Strong experience with DevOps practices and Microsoft DevOps tools, including Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions
Experience managing remote and distributed teams is essential
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work with technical and non-technical audiences
Strong problem-solving skills and root-cause analysis
